For Vendors

On behalf of the Town of Chapel Hill and the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership, you are invited to be a part of a new community celebration!

Application form coming soon.

Celebrate global culture within Chapel Hill at this fun and funky street party! Community and campus cultural groups share their traditions and heritage through crafts, activities and interactive experiences. Music, dance, and spontaneous arts performances will fill the stage and street. The flavors of the world will be on offer at food trucks and in our tasting tent, featuring downtown’s diverse restaurants. Bring the whole family for this unforgettable afternoon of education, appreciation, and celebration of global cultures.

We are seeking exhibitors and/or street performers.  Here’s a little more about each of those:

We are seeking approximately 20 local global/cultural organizations to be official exhibitors, showing off the culture or region their organization represents and providing some sort of interactive activity for attendees.  Exhibitors will have a tent with table and chairs provided.  What that activity might be is up to you – perhaps a Ukrainian doll craft or a lesson in how to count to 10 in Korean or a chance to play an African djembe – and we encourage you to be creative.  This will be an all ages, outdoor event and we expect a large crowd, so please factor that into your consideration.

In addition to performers on stage, we will have a number of smaller and more spontaneous street performers – think Chinese dragon dances or break dancing or martial arts exhibitions or buskers playing the bagpipes or ukulele or the didgeridoo.  Depending on the nature of the performance, these might happen in a designated space or just pop up in the middle of the crowd.
